HOW TO HANDLE STRESS

It's difficult not to feel overwhelmed now and then. You can become overly stressed and occupied with job, family, and other commitments. However, if you're under a lot of stress, you're jeopardizing your overall health. This is because stress triggers your nervous system and floods your bloodstream with adrenaline and cortisol, two substances that increase blood pressure, heart rate, and blood sugar levels. These alterations cause your body to go into fight or flight mode. The following stress management suggestions can assist you in handling stress:

  1. By identifying the sources of stress

The first step in stress management is to identify the sources of stress in your life. Learn to recognize your own physiological signs of stress. Start examining your habits, attitude, and excuses to identify the true sources of your stress. Keep a daily journal and note when something causes you undue stress or anxiety. When you start to notice patterns, you'll be able to identify what causes stress in you and be better prepared to deal with it.

2. Learn Some Relaxations Strategies

The physiological impacts of the fight or flight response can be countered by relaxing. for example try taking deep breathes this can take the pressure off you right away. While breathing, place your hands in your lap and your feet on the floor in a comfortable position and try taking deep breath slowly in and out. At a time, do this for 5 to 10 minutes.

3. Talk to a Someone Close

Take a pause when you're stressed to call a friend, Family member, your therapist or a trusted Pastor and talk about your difficulties. A healthy lifestyle necessitates good interactions with friends and loved ones. When you're under a lot of stress, they're very crucial. A soothing voice, even for a minute, may put everything in perspective.

Calling a friend is not always an option. If this is the case, calmly talking to yourself may be the next best thing(self-talk). But remember in-order for a self-talk to work, you should make it positive not negative

4. Eat the right Diet

Stress levels and a healthy diet are inextricably linked. When we are stressed, we often forget to eat well and turn to sugary, fatty snack foods for a pick-me-up. Avoid sugary snacks and plan ahead of time. For energy, your meals should be high in vegetables, fruit, whole grains, and lean protein and fish high in omega-3. Fatty acids have been shown to reduce stress symptoms. And also do not omit any dish.

In conclusion, stress is an unavoidable part of life, but it does not have to be ignored. Too much untreated stress can lead to serious physical and mental health issues. The good news is that stress is often manageable. You can reduce your stress, whether it's from family or work, with some patience and the few above helpful strategies.
