ADULTHOOD SHOULD BE ADDED AS A SUBJECT IN SCHOOLS
I remember wanting to grow up so badly because I thought adulthood was awesome and childhood was annoying. Now that I'm an adult, I miss the days when I would scream out to my mother for food, candy, clothes, money, and whatever else came to mind. Adulthood comes with obligations, such as having to take care of your family, pay your expenses, make decisions, plan your career, develop relationships, and so forth.
Reasons Why Adulthood should be taught in schools
During our school years, many of us were growing into our own and attempting to determine who we were and what we wanted to be. In addition, we were attempting to make friends, assimilate into a strange environment, and understand the world and our place in it. It is a period when we are receptive to fresh perspectives and encounters, and when we are attempting to make sense of the outside world. We are also developing our own thoughts and beliefs at this time, as well as learning how to think independently.
Teenagers often associate adult obligations with things like money, working, voting, insurance, etc.; these issues seem like far-off concerns or afterthoughts to the pleasures of adulthood, and they feel ignorant when others discuss them. Being unprepared is one of the main issues youngsters encounter as they transition into adulthood. They are forced to learn through trial and error because they are not taught important adult skills in the classroom.
A high schooler probably won't know how to respond if you ask them whether they are aware of the advantages of having a good credit score. As they transition to adulthood, many students fail to recognize the need of developing and adhering to a budget. The school loves to celebrate students' futures, but they seldom teach them about the practical aspects of adulthood, such as filing taxes and handling money. Even though many life skills are acquired through experience, teaching kids the essentials earlier in life would have a significant positive impact on their lives.
Adulthood education offers chances for sociability, goal achievement, and personal development. School therefore is the ideal setting to learn about adulthood for all the aforementioned reasons.
